Randolph to lead both Evansville, Terre Haute Harrison College campuses

EVANSVILLE — Brennan Randolph, who has served as president of the Harrison College's Terre Haute campus since 2010, was named on Friday to also serve as president of Harrison's Evansville campus.
 

Harrison College to reduce selected programs’ tuition rates

ANDERSON, Ind. — In January 2013, Harrison College will begin what it calls a “groundbreaking” tuition reduction plan.

New and current students in nine programs will receive a 10 percent tuition reduction and be locked into that rate until they finish their programs.

But last Wednesday saw a healthier spin on the typical Halloween, as students at The Chef’s Academy spent the day volunteering in seven Indianapolis Public School high schools, crafting upgraded versions of typical dishes and helping to educate students about better eating choices.

Harrison College to slash tuition costs by 10% in needed fields

Harrison College announced a new initiative that will reduce tuition prices on ten different curriculums across their 14 campuses by 10% to make those majors more appealing to young students. The subjects were chosen solely based on local community needs throughout Indiana where there are job surpluses in certain fields but not enough graduates to fill those positions.
 
TERRE HAUTE — Community partnerships had local college students burning to learn this week.

The streets were full of trick-or-treaters Wednesday evening, but in the back parking lot of Harrison College, a group of Harrison College students watched a small shed set afire. For those enrolled in the school’s criminal justice program, the scene would provide a case study in solving arsons.
 

Harrison College adding bachelor’s degrees at Grove City campus

The Grove City campus of Harrison College will add bachelor’s degrees to its scholastic offerings starting in January in response to employer demand, the private school said Monday.
 

Working mom wins college scholarship

Forty-four-year-old EMT Michelle Meyer is returning to college after winning a $2,500 “Working Moms Scholarship” from Harrison College.

 

Students of higher education are in a rut. As they head toward careers, many find themselves treading the well-worn path of so many students before them as they select the right major, secure a good internship, and obtain the appropriate recommendations, all of which will (hopefully) insert them into their dream job. The problem: there are not enough jobs to accommodate the rapidly growing number of graduates.

 

Skate the Square turns downtown Lafayette into a skating rink

Part of Downtown Lafayette was blocked off to cars and open to skaters. A temporary skating rink went up around the courthouse for the first annual Skate the Square. It's an event sponsored by Harrison College for the Boys and Girls Club.
