Kristen E. Weaver, M.S.
Associate Provost for Communication and Faculty Development

Kristen brings over 16 years of communication and leadership experience to Harrison where she drives college-wide cross-functional communication and collaboration, and leads academic initiatives on behalf of the Office of the Provost. Kristen’s role also includes oversight for Harrison’s faculty development and training in support of the Provost’s strategic plans for attracting and developing exceptional leader instructors.

Prior to joining the college in 2008, Ms. Weaver served as Interim Executive Director and Director of Marketing and Human Resources at IHETS, a statewide education and technology consortium. Her diverse experience is cultivated from the fields of TV production at CNN, public relations and public affairs, organizational development, and public service/nonprofit communications and marketing.

Kristen received her Bachelor’s degree in political science from DePauw University and her Master’s degree in public relations from Boston University.

Nelson E. Soto, Ph.D.
Associate Provost for Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Nelson E. Soto joined Harrison College after serving as both Assistant Dean in the Graduate Office and Instructional Development Specialist at the Center for Teaching and Learning at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). For Harrison, Nelson oversees curriculum development and instructional design of Harrison’s programs and is responsible for ensuring academic rigor of Harrison’s courses and charged with helping to increase academic program offerings for Harrison students.

Nelson brings his background in course design and in faculty and organizational development as the Provost’s representative to the Council of Deans and to the Curriculum Committee, and as a liaison with the National Deans and the Learning Resource Centers. Dr. Soto earned both his Bachelor’s degree in operations management and his Master’s degree in educational foundations from the University of Cincinnati. Nelson completed his Ph.D. in educational policy studies from Indiana University in 2010, which focused on access and retention, and on the course design and the administration of programs for marginalized student populations. Dr. Soto also teaches regularly at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Jeffrey A. Schillinger, M.S.
Associate Provost for Policy and Administration

Jeff works with Harrison’s regional deans and registrars ensuring policy administration and compliance throughout the Harrison system.

Jeff brings over 25 years of education experience to Harrison College, serving in the proprietary school industry since 1994. Prior to joining Harrison College in 2006, Jeff served as the National Dean at ITT Educational Services. Throughout his career, Jeff has primarily focused on training teachers and administrators to better serve students and improve outcomes in retention, student performance and compliance. Jeff serves on the Harrison College Compliance Committee and the college’s HLC Steering Committee.

Jeff regularly delivers workshops on retention and teaching at association meetings across the country. He has served on an APSCU retention panel and has facilitated multiple workshops and discussion panels on the topic of retention and placement for ACICS.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Wayne State University and a Master of Science degree in Education from Indiana University.

Chris Hutchinson, M.S.
Director, Program Development

Chris Hutchinson joined Harrison College as the Director of New Program Development in 2008. His responsibilities include driving and managing programmatic recommendations and decisions for all of Harrison College’s campuses and online. In his role, Chris also establishes and implements collaborative, cross-divisional systems and processes for current and new academic program development and assessment to help guide continuous improvement for the college. Chris helps cultivate strategic academic partnerships with community organizations and corporations in support of program development and student placement.

Chris has over 13 years of professional experience in marketing and staffing. Prior to joining Harrison College, Chris most recently spent seven years as a technical staffing consultant with Aerotek, an Allegis Group company.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Sport Behavior and Performance from Miami University.
