Meet Alan Whalen

Professional Area

Alan has spent approximately twenty years in the banking industry as a small business lending specialist.  He then served as a General Manager over several mid-west states for a medium size company.  Mr. Whalen has also owned two successful businesses during his career.  Before coming to Harrison College, he was a District Manager for a real estate developer and property management company in Arizona.

Biography

Alan Whalen was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana and his family moved to Plainfield, Indiana when he was a young child.  He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1970.  Following high school, he graduated from Indiana University in 1973.  While working in the banking industry, Mr. Whalen also taught at the University of Indianapolis as an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Business for many years.  Mr. Whalen comes to Harrison College with over thirty years of managerial experience and almost fifteen years of experience teaching at the college level.  He has also been the owner of two successful businesses one being a consulting firm and the other a specialty gift shop.  Mr. Whalen lives in Plainfield with his wife of over twenty years Lynda.  Mr. Whalen recently served as the Faculty Adviser for the local Harrison College SIFE Chapter (Students In Free Enterprise).
