Indianapolis, IN (July 18, 2016) — Harrison College, a nationally accredited, career-focused higher education institution serving more than 3,000 students worldwide, is hosting a blood drive with the Indiana Blood Center on Wednesday, July 20, at its downtown campus at 550 E. Washington Street, from 1-4 p.m.
The community is invited to roll up their sleeves with Harrison students, faculty and staff, to donate blood. The Indiana Blood Center reported last week that its inventory was critically low on all blood types.
“Harrison is proud to give our students and the public a chance to give back to the community in such a meaningful way,” said Ryon Kaopuiki, campus president of the Harrison College Downtown campus. “Through Harrison’s wide array of health sciences programs, we have a strong focus on and dedication to the health care field, especially here in Indianapolis.”
Harrison offers degree programs in business, criminal justice, health sciences and information technology at its Indianapolis campus.
For individuals interested in donating, the Indiana Blood Center recommends drinking lots of fluids and eating a good meal the day of the donation. Donors also are required to present a picture ID.
Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, visit https://www.donorpoint.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/106428.
