Michael Crowley, Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel

Michael Crowley serves as Harrison College’s chief compliance officer and general counsel. In this role, Mr. Crowley handles the College’s legal matters, including issues involving corporate governance, employment and labor law, corporate compliance, intellectual property and real estate. As Harrison College’s first in-house attorney, Mr. Crowley designed and implemented organization-wide processes for the development and indexing of policies and procedures, affecting all key aspects of the College’s operations, to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. In addition, he instituted the College’s first contract review, approval and indexing system. He also oversees and directs the Human Resources department, serving nearly 800 full and part-time employees. 

Mr. Crowley is an attorney and executive with more than 17 years of experience in the legal profession, including six years in private practice with the former Indianapolis-based firm Locke Reynolds (now Frost Brown Todd) and 11 years in corporate legal roles of increasing complexity and responsibility, including corporate counsel roles with the former Steak n Shake Company and ITT Educational Services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University and a JD from the Mauer School of Law (Indiana University – Bloomington). 

Mr. Crowley and his wife Melissa reside in Fishers with their three children: Ashlyn, Addison and Cullen.
