William B. Finney BS, DVM

Role at Harrison

Dr. (“Doc”) William B. Finney is the campus president for the Indianapolis – Northwest campus and curriculum manager for the School of Veterinary Technology of Harrison College in Indiana.

Professional History

Prior to assuming the duties of his current position, Dr. Finney served as program director and co-founder for three post-secondary veterinary medical training and teaching programs. He is the former owner and operator of Icevet LLC. / Ketchikan Veterinary Clinic, a comprehensive full-service veterinary hospital in Alaska, Icevet Enterprises LLC. and Icevet II PC with three veterinary practices in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a retired U.S. Army Medical Department Veterinary Corps Officer, Commander, Green Beret, veteran of three major military conflicts and recipient of the Bronze Star medal. He is a former USDA-APHIS-Animal Care Veterinary Medical Officer assuring compliance of registries and licensees with the Animal Welfare Act.

Dr. Finney is board eligible for the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alaska State Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (animal welfare committee), Association of Veterinary Technician Educators and the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medical Association. He has specialized skills and experiences especially in the areas of education, program management and development, veterinary medicine, relationship building, regulatory and accreditation compliance, public health and zoonosis, operations planning and execution.

AVMA – The Harrison College Veterinary Technology program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities.

NAVTA – The Harrison College Veterinary Assisting program is approved by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America.
