Veterinary Assistant Program

Harrison College's 300 contact hour non-credit Veterinary Assistant program provides you the opportunity to learn:

  • Small animal husbandry
  • Laws and ethics of veterinary medicine
  • Hands-on practical and clinical skills for small animal procedures
  • Soft skills, professionalism and communication

Salary & Employment

According to O*Net, veterinary assistants make an average of $23,550 annually, and employment is projected to grow eight to 14 percent from 2012-2022. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states, “Despite average employment growth, high occupational turnover will result in good job opportunities.”
