Indianapolis – Feb. 2, 2015 – Harrison College, a private sector college serving nearly 4,000 students worldwide, is educating and preparing students for careers in some of Indiana’s “Hot 50 Jobs.”
According to the Department of Workforce Development in an announcement released today, Registered Nurse is the state’s hottest future profession with an annual growth of almost 18 percent.
“It is our goal to prepare students to fill in-demand jobs after college,” said Harrison College East Indianapolis Campus President Greg Bond. “We have more than 460 students currently studying for careers in health sciences at our East Indianapolis campus alone, with many of them pursing degrees in nursing. Today’s announcement from the Department of Workforce Development further confirms that we are educating students to work in some of the fastest growing, most needed jobs in the state.”
Harrison offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) which is programmatically accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education and Nursing (ACEN).
Students who complete Harrison’s ASN program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and those who pass can become registered nurses.
Over the past five years, Harrison’s ASN students achieved at least a 91 percent pass rate on the NCLEX with two years at 100 percent and one at 97 percent.
Harrison also offers the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program which is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). It is available online, giving access to Hoosiers everywhere.
