How does a career in business differ from my current job?

Every job demands a certain level of professionalism, but a business position requires you to talk the talk and walk the walk.

A career in business could involve a variety of tasks—dealing with clients and customers, public speaking, being in charge of finances, selling products or services and more. Because some business professionals have major responsibilities within a company, it is important that they have good judgment, resilience and the ability to handle stress well.

Some experiences you gain from a minimum wage or part-time job can transfer to a business role, but you will need the skills taught in college to handle certain challenges and a degree to give you a competitive advantage in your field.
